Fondamenta Canal Vena served as one of the vital filming locations for the show. The story of I Hate Christmas revolves around the character of Gianna, played by Pilar Fogliati. Gianna is a professional nurse, who is confident in whatever she does and leads a quiet life. Gianna is a single woman and is happy with her life as she does not want to get into a relationship just for the sake of it. As she has to return home for the Christmas holiday, she is worried and irritated about the fact that her family members would ask about her love life like every other year.

Gianna is fed up with her family asking the same questions about her love life every year. So she comes up with a plan. To avoid all the stupid questions, she plans to find a fake boyfriend, who would pretend to be her real lover.
